Dr. Harl, a native of Bloomfield, Iowa, has been serving Columbia since 1964. He also has two orthodontic practices located in Mexico, and Osage Beach, MO. Dr. Harl received his dental degree from the University of Iowa City, in 1959, and went on to graduate school, where he graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with his master’s of science degree in Orthodontics.
Dr. Harl is currently a member of the American Dental Association and the American Association of Orthodontics-Midwestern Section. He is also a member and past president of the Columbia Downtown Rotary Club, a member of the Rotary Foundation and a Paul Harris Fellow, as well as, a parishioner of the Newman Center.
Dr. Harl and his wife, Sharon, have seven children and 14 grandchildren. They split their time between Columbia and the Lake of the Ozarks. In addition to spending time with his family, Dr. Harl also enjoys photography and riding his jet ski.
Dr. Harl enjoys all aspects of his practice, and loves working with all of his patients. He loves getting to know his patients, and says that working with young patients and teens helps to keep him young and hip! He mostly takes great pleasure in seeing how all of his patients, young and old, grow and change throughout their orthodontic treatment, and how happy they are when they see their new smile for the very first time.
